Osijek-One Written by James Mac Donald The largest festival of kulen in Croatia from May 25 to 28 2017 in the heart of Baranja in Jagodnjaku. More accurately taken place on the grounds of Primary Jagodnjak starting at 3 pm. Organised by the Municipalities of Jagodnjak which consists of a fo ur-day program.
Visitors can enjoy a multitude of different kulen that is local, domestic and handmade. The organiser has also put together as part of the program some great entertainment and cultural programs. After the opening ceremonies kulen, follows the parade of entertaining folklore groups, horses and horse drawn carriages’ on the streets of Jagodnjak. The event each year attracts a growing number of visitors and also competitors. Last year 125 submitted their own kulen samples. Whereby the samples were then judged and evaluated on the following: taste, quality, smell, colour, texture and other measures of consistency. At the Kulen Festival, you will be able to consume other homemade products for which Baranja is famous for: cheese, minced paprika, honey, cured meats goods and more. The beverages and drinks will be exclusive to this region at the festival inviting small local wineries, breweries, and producers of all natural juices. The festival encourages visitors to enjoy and learn about locally made products. The goal of the Kulen festival is to help promote and present kulen as the source of authentic Slavonia-Baranja products of this traditional gastro speciality. I am not really familiar with this event, but I am willing to research it. If it is part of the Japanese culture that I love so much, then I will make an effort to learn all about it. It will probably take time before I can be familiar with it, but that is fine. I am starting to understand it through your blog, and I appreciate you for that. I hope that you can give me more information about this event.
