There were a lot of private business and public companies that saw this as a way to revitalize farming communities and creating jobs. There has been a small return to people being encouraged to start their own business in Agriculture. One only has to see that there are many search results when typing the following “Croatia entrepreneurs support for start-up business in agriculture” The information has been posted at the market and each part of Croatia has posted bulletins on how to reach out to OPG. The cost of getting fresh food on the table varies depending on the products selected as well the distance of the delivery. Some have solved the problem figured out ways to keep the cost down by the amount purchased and if there is a way of forming a delivery route. For example, if there is a cluster of residents in the same neighbourhood and the route can be established for that day. It is best to reach out to the business that is providing the service. There are transportations hurdles. With measures in place to restrict the movement of people and vehicles from crossing between city boundaries paperwork is required. Fortunately, Local OPG has the paperwork that enables them to carry out essential services. The producers have been self-organized in obtaining Civil Protection Licenses for the delivery of products as the crops are being vegetables are being harvested before the season is over. Thus enabling them to deliver to consumers and food industry grocery stores, food depots and small business such as take-out service restaurants. Special thanks to the entrepreneur spirit of farmers that have found a way to get to the consumer. It’s a great way that communities have stuck together in helping one and another. With the entrepreneurs in agribusiness and rural development, there has been a small surge in the OPG sector. There is a lot of community support in helping farmers. Stay home and be safe has become the daily routine. There is still some people out there who may have wanted to go directly to farmers. Unfortunately, they are currently not able to do so, because of transportation restrictions between cities and town boundaries. There is a physical presence of police enforcements restricting people and vehicles movement. There are paper documents which is needed to pass for reasons of emergency or essential business. This is perhaps one of the most difficult things for people to understand, which is social distancing and restriction of movement. Let’s hope that these restrictions will save friends and family lives. Comments are closed.
